Giles Crosse, freelance journalist, editor, content creator and author

My specialist areas include sustainability, extractives and the environment, development, humanitarian issues, poverty alleviation, climate change, low carbon energy, Net Zero, NGOs, ESG reporting and corporate/b2b content authoring.
I've over 20 years top level communications expertise. I spent 2013/15 working as an embedded journalist with NGOs: Fauna Forever in the Peruvian Amazon, Azafady in Madagascar and Shallow Waters in Cambodia, writing on poverty, global sustainable development, humanitarian issues and the challenges and opportunities therein.
Throughout my career, I’ve contributed to outstanding clients: BBC, Economist, EDIE, Ethical Corporation, The Guardian, Reuters and the United Nations Environment Programme / United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI). I’ve also written for EMAP, Haymarket, The Prince’s Charities and many smaller publishing houses, journals and websites.
I've worked as a content strategist, consultant, developer and author for many low carbon communication agencies, in addition to supplying freelance thought leadership content sets (whitepapers/blogs/infographics/video content) to top names including EDF Energy, Natwest/RBS, Santander, Peugeot and Ernst & Young. My Reuters work covers disruptive b2b journalism, truth, authenticating news and sustainable newsgathering for the future.
I recently completed a spell as Group Creative Copywriter for Etopia, running content strategy, thought leadership and day to day authoring, plus a series of thought leadership whitepapers and blogs for Shell Energy on Net Zero and decarbonising UK business for better. I've also been contributing leadership content to the World Economic Forum.
Right now I'm working as Lead Sustainability Author on new launch Future Business, which leads corporates through the evolution of sustainability, diversity and leadership to shape tomorrow's business. Further, I'm finalising a year's strategy and communications consultancy for UNPRI in September 2023, while freelancing support to CDP on sustainability reporting.
